Robot Heart Stories: Help a Space Bot Get Home
1 November 2011, 7:18 pm

 Â

At Noon EST on Oct 17, a robot from space crash landed in Montreal, Quebec. Her mission: collect scientific data about Earth civilization and return home. Because of the crash, the robot's only chance at getting home is to be aboard an Earth made space craft that will be launched from Los Angeles, California. French-speaking students as a Montreal school and English and Spanish speaking students at an LA school must all work together to help the robot get home. The students will need to use their science, geography, math, and creative writing skills to guide her across the continent. And they need your help to.
This project has the potential to reach many more students globally. We are working to demonstrate how education can become experiential. How by placing learning in children's hands it can help to make a difference in their lives. This project moves faster than brand support and granting cycles. We are working to show how passionate people can make an impact on education and how together we can help a robot to reboot education.
Students learn about geography as they tell the robot where to go next, they'll write about her journey and try to help the robot understand Earth's society, A team of photographers travel with the robot sending back photos from locations the children choose as the journey progresses. You can follow the adventure on the Robot Heart Stories blog. And don't forget to help out if you can by contributing to their IndieGoGo fund-raising campaign
