It is so sad to lose a fellow industrial robot technician. My sincere condolences to the family. Out of respect for the family, the following comments are made in general about industrial A.I. so that they are not insensitive to the family.

Elevators use A.I. called Reinforced Learning. It runs on an industrial computer brain to analyze passenger traffic patterns, in order to predict the most efficient elevator service. 
This also saves on wear and tear of the elevator equipment to increase safety. 

However, elevator equipment maintenance may upon a malfunction of the Artificial Intelligence act as a guillotine, quickly amputating or beheading an elevator technician. All it takes is for a body part to even briefly protrude out the open elevator doorway to the floor, when the A.I. decides to return to the ground floor.

To end this comment on a lighter note... It is ironic that, in Science Fiction, Herbie the love bug was a Volkswagen with Artificial Intelligence.
