An 'octopus' robot with eight limbs developed to clear rubble in Fukushima, Japan

Researchers in Japan have jointly developed a robot with four arms and four crawlers which can perform multiple tasks simultaneously to help clean up the rubble left after the 2011 quake-tsunami disasters in Minamisoma, Fukushima.

Nice but they should consider placing the electrical and hydraulic lines Internally or inside the framework instead of having it exposed to potential damage from rubble, debris, sharp metal edges, etc., during removal / cleanup operations.
One nick on a hydraulic line and you're soon out of business.

Placing the lines inside the framework also eliminates the need for extensive outer "armoring" of the lines to protect them, thus helping reduce the overall weight.
