Icop VSX-6115: Tiny x86 SBC Runs Linux
A Linuxdevices.com
article highlights another interesting microcontroller with
potential robotics applications. It's the Icop Technology VSX-6115
board, based on the Vortex86SX SoC. The
27mm x 27mm board requires 5VDC and uses 0.2W at 66MHz or 0.9W at
300MHz. You get 128MB of DDR2 RAM and 2MB of flash. A 16MB EmdedDisk is
optional. The board includes an RJ45 10/100 Ethernet port and is covered
with headers providing a lot of I/O including 4 RS-232 ports, RS-485,
JTAG, Keyboard and mouse, parallel, 2 USB ports, EIDE, and mutiple GPIO
pins. Expansion is provided by a 16bit x-ISA connector. The price of
$110 looks attractive for robot builders.
