Illuminato: Open Source Hardware Arduino Upgrade

Are the Arduino boards not quite up to your latest project? Maybe you
should take a look at the Illuminato, a
100% Free Hardware / Open Hardware Arduino clone. The Illuminato has 40
I/O pins, 64k code space, and everything from schematics to board layout
is released under the GPL. You can buy a few or download the specs and
manufacture a million of them. We heard about the Illumanto from a recent post in the
Electronic Lab blog. Another interesting feature of the Illuminato
project is that it's being financed by the Open Source Hardware Bank, a
community funding system (AKA microcredit coop or P2P lending system, full
explanation) that pays a small return to community members willing
to put up money to fund Free/Open Hardware projects. For more see the Liquidware
blog (and their and
their recent update), or the Makezine
article.
