Will the real robot please stand up?
« on: April 13, 2013, 01:27:03 am »
Or will we even be able to tell. In the near future it may very well be somewhat difficult to discern a clothed human from a "clothed" robot.

Although it seems to have a slight "spring" in it's step, there are certainly a lot of realistic motions being performed and it will only get better.

So here, for your weekend enjoyment and amazement, I present from D.A.R.P.A., Petman! :o

In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!

I thought this humanoid looking robot was interesting because it does actually do something rather than just for testing purposes of improving robot technology.

I believe what it is doing is relentlessly testing out clothing designed for hazardous environments.

And yes Art there is a lot of human type movment going on, it could fool someone into thinking it's a person, well it fooled me for a while.

Nice find  O0
