Random Robot Roundup
     

I'm feeling random this morning, so lets do a robot news roundup. The spaceminers
Space Elevator team let us know they've set up fund raising pages at KickStarter
and fundable,
so a send a few bucks their way if you can. Doug Emes pointed out a cnet
photo gallery of robots making themselves at home. The Carnegie
Science Center sent us a new press
kit (PDF format) on their roboworld
exhibit as well a link to their roboworld
flickr gallery. We've
reported from time
to time on robot floats used by
oceanographers to study the sea, now Duke University and WHOI report RAFOS
floats have significantly advanced our understanding of Atlantic ocean
circulation and should facilitate improved global climate
simulations. Carlos
Montesinos reports that beta
testing is starting for the humanoid robot, Nao, built by French
company Aldebaran
