KCRS Attempts Line Following World Record
     


The Kansas City
Robotics Society is going for a world record and you
can help them do it! They want to set the record for the most line
following robots on a single course. If you have a line following robot
and are close to Kansas, you and your robot can become part of
the new world record. Terry Frederick of KCRS writes,
On Saturday, June 12th 2010, from 12:00 to 5:00, the Kansas
City Robotics Society and Union Station's Science City will attempt a
new Guinness World Record of the greatest number of robots to follow a
common line following course simultaneously.  From noon until 5:00 PM,
robots from the Kansas City area will converge on Kansas City's Union
Station to link together on a nearly 300 foot line following course.
Line following is a basic skill of robots that is used to deliver goods
from one point in a building to another.  The event is free and open to
the public.

KCRS has already done a trial
run to work the kinks out of what
they're calling the "Great
Line Following" - check out the video after
