Lost Metropolis Film Discovered

A reel of film from Fritz Lang's 1927 Metropolis containing a section
thought to be lost was
discovered recently at a cinema museum in Buenos Aires.
Claiming the title of the most expensive silent film of the time,
Metropolis is the story of a futuristic city where the major class
division is between laborers and the thinking elite.  A gynoid robot is used in a
battle of forces to create a just society.

Yes I found this interesting too.  I rememeber seeing it years ago and found it amazingly atmospheric.   Anyone know if they ever remade it in more recent times ?

There has been a sort of remake but not scene for scene and was more 'based upon' and not very memorable either if I recall correctly. Not one to look for.

Also I believe there there are still some legal issues surrounding the film and rights etc etc, not sure exactly what though.

Really looking forward to a special edition now hehe, great great film.
