Impressive.  Isn't there a robot that hits baseballs too, I seem to remember that from a few years back.  They should get together

I think this batting robot is able to hit due to a pitching maching being used,
that is, the baseball is being thrown at a relatively constant velocity and trajectory.

All the bot needs to do is swing the bat across the ball's path each time.

More impressive would be if the bot was equipped with visual sensors to determine
the speed, trajectory, distance, etc. of the ball. Still nice to watch.

Just found this before leaving for work...

Not bad and it uses 'eye' sensors to locate the ball and swing accordingly.
Only time will improve these "substitute" players!

Aha, yes that first one is the robot I remember.  Thanks for the videos.  Sooner or later they must get a team together.
