Time for another news roundup before I fall too far behind! Sebastian
Tyl writes, "you will be interested to know that Castrol
has built a robot to
test motorcycles" Daniel Casner
writes, "WIRED in association with Touchstone pictures has produced a
video
on the real life robots behind the upcoming Surrogates movie".
Speaking of movies, have you seen District 9? Travis Deyle recommends
it and wrote
a review of the robot hardware in the movie.
If you're in India and looking for a robot kit, Kiran jadhav suggests
you check out Robotek for some
interesting robot bases and DiY kits. Chris Jang points out an
interesting video
of Yann LeCun talking about the LAGR
robot: "At the end, LeCun talks about the robot. What's
impressive about the robot is not so much it's capability. You could do
the same thing using conventional control theory and statistical
classifiers. It's the way they did it." From the rumors department,
we don't have photos for you yet but expect to see a new Zeno prototype
