Robots: Learning with LEGO

Children love robots. And using robots for education of
children of all ages has become increasingly popular. Following a
previous episode on robot
toys, the latest episode of the Robots podcast focuses on the
direct benefits of using robots for education. We first speak to
Chris Rogers, professor
at Tufts University and developer of
ROBOLAB, a
framework for using LEGO Mindstorms. Chris
shares more than a decade of experience in classrooms teaching students
of all ages, including some practical tips and examples to get teachers
and parents started. In the second part we are joined by Liz Herron, who
runs the unique LEGO Education Center
in Texas. She talks about her hands-on experience with kids and robots
at the center and gives some examples of the amazingly creative
solutions children come up with. Tune
in!
