Search for Air France 447 Debris Succeeds
     

Just a few days after it began
the latest attempt to find the debris of
Air France 447 has proven successful,
although the flight recorder had not yet
been found at latest report. Using
Remus 6000 autonomous underwater vehicles
from
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution
to search 4000 square miles of ocean, such
quick results, after three previous searches
had resulted in failure, would seem to
validate the value of the technology.
