interesting article. There have been  alot of advances in robots. I personally hope that some day these robots would become more affordable and common place in the home. But for now the shear cost of creating one makes it impracticable to have very many in a home. a simple robot vacuum for example is any where from 200 on up. They are actually pretty simple robots that are just using sensor to avoid obstacles. Another robot that was popular in the past but is now not sold was aibo the robot dog That one was more advanced but the price of it made it hard to sell to most homes. I am not a robots expert by any means but i have made some hobby robots and have a general idea how they work.
So sue me
