Transterpreter Project's Portable IDE for SRV-1

Howard Gordon writes, "The Transterpreter group has built a highly interactive
cross-platform IDE for developing and running robot code using the
occam-pi language. The developers have been able to easily integrate the
core vision and mobility features of the SRV-1 platform with the core
concurrency features of occam-pi." If you haven't heard of Transterpreter yet, it's a
"small, portable, open-source runtime for exploring concurrency". The
Transterpreter is Free Software licensed under the GNU GPL.  The
Transterpreter evolved from a project to create a highly-portable occam-pi
interpreter for the Transputer microprocessor. Since then it has evolved
into a general purpose language that's ideally suited for robotics
applications. The new IDE is interesting because it makes the vision and
mobility features of the SRV-1 robot easy to use through the occam-pi
language. The Surveyor SRV-1 is a
Blackfin BF537 based robot. For more details on new SRV-1 IDE see
Howard's
blog post.
