Title: How to make a skin

Hello!  :)

I am still new to the 3D characters creation. What software do I need to have to create my own Skin outfit for the haptek characters. I have purchased people putty but does not have the skin option. My friend is looking for a Celtic robe for one of my female figures. I have several skins I could try to change, but I don't know how to edit them to the type of clothing she is looking for. If I was an artist in Photoshop I could create one. LOL Hope someone can help.

I made most of my skins with paint shop pro but look around the skins section of the forum for ideas and think somewhere in there is also some maps of where certain things need to be etc.
