Cereproc Voices
« on: May 24, 2014, 10:14:15 pm »
I got a voice from these guys the other day. Prices are pretty good. I went for the 'Jess' voice and it's pretty good. She sounds less computery to me, but she does suffer the odd mistuned moment in common with most PC voices. I like her more human sound though.

Here's some demos for anyone interested in checking them out.

Interesting but I don't see any way to buy it - I'm guessing it is for the commercial sector.

Going back to the Cereproc voices I was pleasantly surprised to find that they have things like laughs and coughs built into the voice. They are really simple to use, you just add some custom tags and she laughs  8)

And more; the voice can be made to sound happy, sad and things like that, again with the use of special tags. You just surround your text with a set of tags (kind of like HTML) and she will suddenly develop a mood. How cool I thought  :)

The behavior of the voice becomes very interesting. Better, than the old tts, bland and too robotic. Intéreessant also for animation, because I also made the motion, with also the facial articulation.

@ Freddy - Yes, I really liked the way the Jess voice sounded. Her voice almost enables one to form a mental image of what kind of person might have such a voice. Good choice! ;)

@ Claude - The best part was the video under the SPEECHBLOG section. Two Scottish guys in a voice recognition elevator!
They try to get the elevator to recognize their accents in order to go the the eleventh floor! Hysterical!!!  :2funny:
