Libel and slander are two very similar offenses. It is guilty if we disseminates information that harm someone's reputation, we take as true the (defamation) and it is known that they are false (slander).

Slander is more serious and is punishable up to three years in prison (6 months for defamation). For defamation, the accused incurs no penalty if he can prove that his accusations are true (or had good reason to hold them true), provided he did not act primarily in order to speak ill of the victim.

So tell false things (or possibly false) about someone (either one or a teacher, someone your age or someone you do not know), it is a rather bad idea, even if it is "just for fun". If the person files a complaint, things can go wrong.

And even if things told are true, if they were told the purpose of harming another or reputation, this may also fall foul of the law.

You should also know that publish such comments on the Internet (via a blog or a forum, for example) may aggravate the offense in the eyes of the law.
