Title: Does everyone like this?
Post by: LOCKSUIT on August 29, 2018, 10:58:25 am
I know its like ridiculous to even bother sharing a track because we all love different music (and us AI people know that better than others), but I flicked on this one (which I love lots) and I thought hey I really think this beat will be popularly loved, so I just want to see. You like it? If so, it's because either culture and/or some rewards we were born with. The producers here are a rare case, most of their songs are like this, and, there is many of them. I was there 5 years ago when this track came out too.

Good words describing this track is: Beat, digital, advanced:

Nice music arrangement there and some nice trippy sounds, but I have some itch listening to it. It has some sound that is too commercial for me.

I have a secret rule for myself when seeking for a new music album: if the album got a Grammy or any other wide mass award, or it has a large visit count on Youtube, I'm avoiding it in a large circle. There are very few exceptions to this rule among my music repertoire.

Otherwise, I'm not tied to any music genre particularly. I can enjoy classical music, like I can enjoy drum-bass-guitar or electronic music, as long as it has that little something pushing my buttons. But I cant define what really I like in music. It just happens that I like a few masterpieces out there.

Actually these producers aren't that "commercial-like"; they produce their own "techno" style, that differs from mainstream.

Or...your question could have been: Does Anyone like this?  ;)

Kind of like what music would sound like after taking drugs and loads of caffeine. But that's just my take.
If it pleases you then so be it. Everyone has different musical inclinations and that's fine.

Rock on my friend...

Although I would prefer some specific music, longer darker beats that don't last 10 seconds and then go to not wanted tune...This one is fairly nice, it lasts, however the tune itself isn't super super powerful. Don't know what exists out there I haven't found. But AI will give me all this, so march on. I have many great ones. But those god ones, I can imaginate em, I wanttttt em!!!!! RR!!

I'm getting a future arctic dystopia type feeling. I like it, 7/10 on the first listen. I would have never found this on my own so thats cool.

If its this hard showing other peoples music, imagine how hard it is showing people your OWN.
Happens to the BEST instrumentalists,  so its no big deal,  just the music business is hardcore, always has been.

I know we have different native and artificially made up rewards for sounds. But I just realized that also we do all understand mostly the same meaning in a hierarchically built tune. For example some tune will mean a long day at the farm (cow boy song). Or techno scientific meanings. Maybe jungle Jamaica. Maybe peace. Maybe war. Maybe sexual. Political. Power. That moment when you are lucky. Or trying to get something right and are thinking otherwise. - Could be any length of sequence.

So listen to this song, it is basically saying power, techno, hard, increasing-ment, thrust, a dark bad hard moment during the metal symbol bam, and then it drops to a (before the airplane sharp do do do do higher pitch thing) magical moment of innovation (before the happy airplane part), that part is amazing to me before it switches by a bright contrast to the airplane part done the rest of the dark stuff.

Tough to say. I guess soundtracks point to the fact that the basic handful of emotions can be evoked with instrumental music. Anything more specific is probably learned and can be specific to the individual. Thanks for sharing.

xD

I guess some of yous shouldd give some time stamps of what is happening/it means through various parts of that song. Like this:

0:00-1:21 > dark desires and trying to get out of a bad job
1:22-1:58 > transforming and gaining wisdom, finding immpossible ways, then moving along a thin bubbly strip in the sky
3:04-4:00 > in the jungle, moving stones, becoming an animal, buzzinging around he air as sparks/power
4:11-4:19 (shortish part) > super dark sadness, unstoppable, then 1 hope (one hope).....ex. grudge sound then tinker

You could see and hear and think "mall", fun, etc, or sentences of vision etc if you hear the "Top Shop" menu song. That's a video game.

For example lady gaga's ra ra, ra ra  ra  ra, poker face......each ra is a part/meaning, and so is 2, and so is heard the full sequence.....not just a 30 sec long thing

0:00-1:15 life, gaining power, critical mass, takeoff
1:15-2:49  being cool af, reaching platue, seeking way to ascend higher, struggling, daily grind, getting nowhere
2:49-3:20  breakthrough! (maybe not that dramatic,some-kinda progress anyways,), steady climb,
3:25-5:06  Huh, i didn't know it was Nathan, I thought he was a good guy... Apparently he was plotting against me though and my AI assistant on this plane just informed me. Apparently this was too much for me, I groaned in despair and fainted? It's OK though cause the AI can pilot this thing. Fevered dreams. Turning into... Alarm, altitude warning.
5:06- 6:24 wrestling with joystick (not like that), losing control of plane, Dammit, cliff-hanger ending.

That’s just what I thought lock... I found this interesting.

How differently you both interpreted the various periods of change within the same music/ composition.

As lock said, musical interpretation is driven by both nature and nurture.

It's interesting though because,

not just nature
but nurture
but, also, nurture x2 as in liking a sound because it appears in science videos and *knowing/believing what sounds mean like "oh, that's when you're hoping around the farm on a Sunday" which isn't exactly a native OR artificial reward but rather a meaning/knowledge inferred from sounds...

And my point is many of us may like native rewarding sounds like things sounding like girls as one example, and many of us will believe the same meaning about some sounds, but, we differ in the artificial rewarding sounds like if you *want to listen to cowboy or techno music or any other music type like "at home eating blue spoon" could be a very specific type of music.

Just to make sure you understood what I meant~

I won’t go into details but there is a lot of research that also links musical rhythm to our body’s internal rhythms, heart beat, circadian rhythms, etc. as well as the natural frequencies / waves derived from the functioning of our brains, theta waves, etc.

Interesting stuff, no offence but I listened to the music and just got a headache lol…

I think I’m just too old to appreciate it… I never ‘got’ Jazz either.

To me that song is like a super black metal armor I get on when I listen, i walk into the lair and my card slides out of my skull. It's super elite....

Yup. If you pay attention to yourself reacting to music you get a free music video well known fact. Also tends to make more sense than real music videos.

My favorite is listening to a good song in a foreign language. Just don't risk looking up the lyrics, lol.

I guess i could have just mentioned a song with vocals. Songs typically sayyyy what's going on. And we ALL understand that. Point made lol.

It still amazes me that some still ask, "What's your favorite type of music?" or "What's your favorite animal?"

Being diverse human beings, we can entertain a huge variety of likes or "favorites".
I like many types of music as I also like a variety of groups or bands or instruments or animals, etc.

But yes, music can and does drive our emotional souls so powerful to create images in our minds or to teleport us to a place in time as if replaying an event or recalling what happened or who we were with when that music was playing. Powerful indeed!

No I meant that we ALL have understood the world the (a fair amount) same in terms of knowledge, so we all know what a romance song with vocals saying "and then I had one hope but it left so i hoped along"........we both get it.......but pleasurably we both may not (nature or nurtured Rewards).

Also, we need not have vocals saying what we'll both understand, sounds do it too, we both know what a scientific techno is saying ex. "thrown into the dark with all the test tubes oh I am so powerful". Despite we may not be born to love* that*, nor were nurtured to like it.
