Born in Boston Dec. 31, 1948, Donna Adrian Gaines whose real name is from a family of seven children. From a young age, she sang in choirs and at church and discovered the power of his voice. At the age of 18, she left Boston to New York for a career. She landed a role in Germany for the musical Hair and several small contracts. She also meets an actor named Helmut Sommer, whom she married, marriage did not last long. From this union, Donna gave birth to her first daughter Mimi.

In 1974, Donna met Giorgio Moroder and Pete Belotte in Germany at a hearing. This meeting was the starting point of his career and no one could suspect the shining success that awaited him. It launches a debut album (available only in Europe) Lady of the Night, which had some success.

Donna returned to America in 1975 and launched its first American album Love to love you baby. Was an instant success with this album that contains a version of 17 minutes. She began to produce other albums which enjoyed a stellar record. In 1976, A Love Trilogy had a hit with the song Try me I know we can make it as Could it be magic. Towards the end of that year, a third album also emerged, Four seasons of love. In 1977, I remember Donna launched yesterday which contains one of his biggest hit I feel love. Even today, this song through the ages and has even been remixed in 1995 and still had success on the British charts. The same year she released her first double album, Once upon a time.

In 1978, Donna plays in the movies Thanks God it's friday Last dance piece which won a Grammy. The same year, she released her second album Double Live and more that contains new tracks including MacArthur Park and Heaven Knows. But it was in 1979 that she had a stunning success with the release of his third and fourth double-album Bad Girls and On the Radio, which include other parts Hot Stuff, Bad Girls, On the radio, No more tears (with Barbra Streisand).

But the disco pulling its end, Donna brilliantly managed to change some style and turned to the 80s with new albums that confirmed that the queen of disco was still as vibrant as we would take with her voice again for many years .

The '80s were much more difficult for Donna Summer. Change of record company, change of musical style, a second marriage with two other children were after, a less pronounced success, a double album (his 5th) made in 1982 which was stored on the shelves and finally came out in 1996 . Changes that affected his professional and private life. But time did she know his work and regain control of his life both personal and professional.

In 1980 Donna began the decade with The wanderer, album style new wave. It was in 1982 with the release of his album "Donna Summer" she found fame a little lost since 1980. His third album of the decade She works hard for the money enjoyed a brilliant success in 1983. Subsequently in 1984, Cats without claws appeared on the market but with moderate success. We must wait three more years before a new album in 1987 with All systems go who knew war better success here in Canada. But in 1989, comeback with his new album Another Place and Time, which contains the room This time I know it's for real. Other style albums Greatest hits are also published from time with Walk Away (1980), The Summer Collection (1985) and The Dance Collection (1987).

The 90s are the best news for Donna. Despite a smaller number of published album, Diva offers various parts whose powerful voice still charms us 15 years later. Mistaken identity in 1991 made its appearance and do not know the expected success in spite of excellent parts. In 1993, The Donna Summer Anthology appeared, and fans can discover two new unreleased songs from his album not released in 1982, and I'm a rainbow Do not cry for me Argentina. We discover the same time, the play Carry on produced in collaboration with Giorgio Moroder. The following year, two albums make their appearance, or Endless Summer, a greatest hits us with two excellent new parts and Melody of Love Any way at all, and a Christmas album, Christmas spirit, whose interpretation is simply divine. We must then wait five long years for a new original album Live and more still! published in 1999 containing three new clips (6 and 7 on the video on the DVD). I Will Go With You (Con te partiro), Love is the healer and My life.

The videotape of the concert and the DVD contains five other original pieces (Someone to watch over me, If There is music there, Riding Through The Storm, Do not wanna work, Nobody).

Again, several greatest hits were released during this period: The best of (Germany 1990), This time I know it's for real (Europe 1991), Master Series (Germany 1997), Greatest Hits (1998), The Collection (Europe 1998), Millennium Edition (Europe 1999).

During this period, three were remixed and success have been new cd single: I Feel Love (1995), The state of independence (1996), Carry On (1997 and 1998). The album I'm a Rainbow was finally established in 1996 after 14 years shelved. Several new titles have appeared either in duet or be a soundtrack. Does he love you? (Duet with Liza Minnelli 1996), Whenever There Is Love (duet with Bruce Roberts film Daylight 1996), My prayer for you (Various 1999). Several pieces have also been the subject of remixes in 1999 by a fan remixers.

The year 2000 looks very promising for the career of Donna. A new contract with Epic Records, the much-anticipated release of his next album, and an autobiographical musical revue, which we hope you will be on Broadway.

In 2000, Donna gave us five new pieces for your patience. Dreamcatcher (film Naturally Native), When I look up (duet with Darwin Hobbs), The Power of One (2000 film Pokemon: The Movie), When the dream never die (The mercy project), and Rosie Christmas, extract the album Another Rosie Christmas. She was also the distribution of the famous show Divas Live 2000.

In 2003 we were treated to three new titles at the output of the album The journey, a greatest hits including You're so beautiful, I Will Live for Love and That's the way. We always look forward to the release of his next album pushed back again. In 2004 and 2005 Donna made several appearances at various locations in Europe and the United States that give us some impressive duets. And it was in 2005 that we have a new securities law, Power of Love, a tribute to Luther Vandross, Are you brave?, And finally I got your love, a theme heard on the show Sex and the City in 2003. Other greatest hits have also emerged. The millenium collection (2003), Ultimate Collection (Holland) and Gold (2005). A tour will continue in 2006...
