Time Zones
« on: May 04, 2011, 03:12:29 pm »
If you want to the forum dates to reflect your local time zone then you need to make a quick settings change in your profile.

This is the click route from the main menu :

Profile->Modify Profile (drop down)->Look and Layout...

Then look for the Time Offset and adjust that.  Auto detect always works for me.

Then scroll down a bit and hit the 'Change Profile' Button.

Now you are done.

BTW, I don't think the software takes account of daylight saving times, so twice a year you might have to do this again.

And the server time is set to GMT 0.

Yup! I noticed the need to change this the first day I saw the new layout. :) And the settings themselves don't take DST into account, but the auto-detect does. It set mine to -7 GMT, which isn't strictly accurate, but works. Maybe before I need to slip in there again, that issue might be fixed? :P

Well since it's only twice a year I will add it to my stockpile of things to do  ;)

One can't ask for more than that. Well, maybe they can ask, but... :D

Hey!!! A broken watch is correct twice a day!!

Another old say is:

A man with one watch knows what time it is.

A man with two watches isn't sure! ^-^
