Haha, good one. I use instant messaging very heavily in my day job. We eschew phone calls and video calls because we need to keep a written record of everything that happens. Fortunately the professional level instant messaging tools that we use allow us to edit messages after they've been sent, but they also maintain an audit trail so you can make sure that an edit was merely fixing a typo, not an attempt to change the record. Using less capable tools becomes immensely frustrating.
