I need help... I just don't get it... I see space/ milkyway, a gold medal and a hedgehog holding a silver medal.

I know there is a hedgehog emoji on android but... I must be missing a vital piece of information.

Am I just having a dumb day?

I can't believe I'm searching google for this... Is it Sonic the Hedgehog, he collected medals?

But that's not a standard hedgehog emoji, there are custom emoji sets that look similar but that would require the person viewing the funny to have that set... otherwise, it's just a picture of a hedgehog... no emoji connection.

WTF...

 

Ed: Perhaps this is just realities price... the cleverer my AGI becomes... the dumber I get.

If this turns out to be a viral promotion or an April fools joke... someone is going to suffer.

If you had visited XKCD while "Emojidome" was running, you would have seen a pair of emojis and an opportunity to vote for which one you liked best.  Emojis were arranged in a bracket with each "match" lasting about half an hour.

Voting is over now; the space emoji won and the hedgehog emoji took second.  Hence this cartoon that now replaces the voting program.
