This style of clock makes the most sense to me. It it was an LCD panel the sunset & sunrise could move according to your location. And the moon could match the current phase.

take-your-time" border="0

Similarly we could update the date, by the position of the earth in it's orbit. It could be a display as well, like a very slow loading circle *(or ellipse) to your holiday.

Notice that the majority of Grandfather clocks also have the Sun/Moon cycles indicated as well. O0

Better sound design too. Tic tic tic... gets repetitive. Tic toc tic toc, clunk glurg clink zzip zzip zzip snap, pause, tic toc tic.. makes the place feel like home. The modern ones also display the temperature, so you can be doubly certain as to when you should turn on the heater, thus catching your body in its lies.  O0

I find temperature, especially room temperatures to be so different are a subjective thing.

We set and enjoy our rooms at 68 degrees whereas my mom used to have her home set to 74-75 degrees where I would feel like it was sweltering!

Granted mom was many years older and becoming somewhat less active and almost frail so I could understand her need to keep warm.

Some people routinely work in the outdoor heat of Florida throughout the day without a bother while others do the same in the almost frigid cold of Alaska's climate.

Funny but we don't achieve a "balanced" equilibrium if the outside temperature matches our normal body temperature of 98.6 degrees. Instead, we feel very warm, too hot. I personally enjoy my coffee at 170 degrees (sipping carefully) - it's normally brewed near 190 degrees f.

Ultimately, it's what we are comfortable with and what we get used to. (much like some people) O0
