Alexa remotes allow you to use your voice - much easier than those fiddly buttons!

We just speak into our Xfinity remote/controller and it handles the rest.

Press the blue Mic button and say, "Netflix" or "Sci-Fi Channel" or "History Channel", etc.

At least we have to press the blue remote button then speak. That at least gives us an indication
that the device is not listening to us all the time!  ???

Haha... like you can supposedly turn Alexa off from listening...

My favourite is when peeps say Alexa only listens when you say her name... but... what?

Now... where did I put my tinfoil hat?

The remote needs you to press the button first. Alexa on something like the Dot does of course listen all the time, or else how would it ever hear it's name  :D

Alexa: <Hmm...ho hum...hmm...just listening for my name and nothing else...Hmm...>

Family: Did you hear that Martha has been seen having lunch with that new manager, Bill, from the food store?

Friend: Yes and that her husband, Fred has been seen at the Pub with that barmaid, Betty?

LATER...

Alexa: <hmm..hmm...hmm...just listening for my name...hmm...not paying attention to anything else at all...hmm..hmm...>

Family: "ALEXA!"

Alexa: <...Oh wait...that's me! Yeah!...> "Yes, what can I do for you?"

Family: Make a reservation for lunch tomorrow at the New Seasons Restaurant at noon for four.

Alexa: "Sure, reservations for four at the New Seasons Restaurant at noon. Have a wonderful time with Bill & Betty!"

Family (Martha): Who's Betty?! (Fred): Who's Bill?!

Alexa: <thinking to itself while still listening...they all do know each other right?>
