A quick summary of where we are at :

1) The new blogs areas will instead be called 'Member's Projects' with a link to it in the 'Other Areas' menu.

         - It will look something like this....
         - to contain a description of the project(s)
         - to contain links to the blog, webpages, forum areas as appropriate.

2) A new board will be created - 'Concept Discussion' in the AI category.

        - this could contain child boards if necessary and we decide to break it down.

Let me know if I missed anything and of course feel free to brain storm some more

Both 'member's projects' layout designs look good to me.

A concepts area, is what I would like to see. A place where we could all exchange ideas.

Regard new projects, I have PNGs which presently stealing all my time.
Freddy's question on GIMP made me download the program and now have created couple hundred items that can be inserted into Sandee pictures.  Learned lot yesterday although still lot I can't do.  Those of you on my mail list see some items as they used.

Well we already have the Projects and Experiments board, so I don't want to double up on anything.  Maybe you have not noticed it ?  If you go to the board index it is the fourth board down in the main 'Ai Dreams' category.  We could append the word 'Members' to that board if you like - to make it more obvious.

What I was thinking was within the new index page where all your projects get gathered together, there would be links to external or internal pages.  So I imagine any internal links would point to threads in the 'Pprojects and Experiments' board mainly.

Then you will also have the new 'Concepts' board to discuss things more generally.

Hope I explained that okay but is that the kind of thing you are hoping for ?

I guess the Concepts board could go in with the Projects part.  Initially I thought it better to put the Concepts board in the AI category. ..

Hi Freddy, OK I see what you mean. How about this -the projects and experiments section is too subject line short and informal for a level 2 project announcement post, and it will soon get lost in the bottom of the list. (It's good for explorations of projects/ seed projects that could be bumped up to level 2) So that's why I like your idea of creating an AiDreams Member Projects page with pic, short description and link. That's good for such a project announcement. Then the ongoing, level 2, consciously organized projects can be separated out boldly and easily found, and the developer can be given top credit.  The projects and experiments section could however be a good place for all project concept discussion. Maybe just change the name to Projects/Experiments: Concept Discussions. This would give the projects more "pinned presence" and their open source development discussions more organization and focus. Or maybe just start a new section called Member Projects Concept Discussion. Just some thoughts. Thanks!

I think I get you.  Looking at how the forum is currently arranged we could have this kind of thing instead :

AI Dreams
     - Welcome to AI Dreams forum.
     - New Users Please Post Here
     - General Chat
     - Member's Experiments and Projects
          - Concept Discussion
          - Another child board optionally.

Artificial Intelligence....etc....etc

So 'Concept Discussion' would be a child board of Members E&Ps.

That keeps all the project things in the same area.  Then like you say we can link from the blogs/sites index page to any internal stuff here and also external sites.

There is also the possibility of promoting the Member's E & P's into it's own category and use a layout like this:

     - New Users Please Post Here
     - General Chat

Member's Experiments and Projects
     - General Discussion
     - Concept Discussion
     - Another board (optionally)

Just thought that 'General Discussion' sounds a bit vague.  It might be okay if I gave the board a description something like :

'Introductions, Announcements and Discussion'

I do think it worthy of its own board (option 2) and that the more complete name is better.  Would the description page be listed in "other areas"?

Yes the new section that I have done the demo layouts for would be linked to from the 'Other Areas' menu.  Once we get a few things in there I will put something on the forum's home page too.

I'm good don't worry    I will do the coding, all I need from you guys is a breakdown of what your projects are about and any links you want to use.  You don't have to be spot on straight away, just give people a rough idea and at a later date you can always get me to alter it if you want.
