Thank you Claude. Of course I was kidding, it wasn't a true question, just a little joke. I do know exactly why "my SL" looks so good on my prehistoric desktop and on my netbook. No mystery in this personal story, so who could be interested...

I'm sure that many people have a computer worse than mine (ok I know, perhaps more recent, lol), and a lot of them are totally unable to go in SL.

You're right, I'm lucky, lucky my old PC had no major failure since 2002 (2 graphics cards and 1 power supply, that's all folks). One day or another I'll have to change it but for now it's not the priority and I have no reason to do that. RL before. Ah if only "my RL" were like "my SL"...

I understand why iClone is your cup of tea, your passion, you are THE expert here and I'm sure you have a fun similar to the one I have with SL. I remember in the past, I wrote I was addicted to Haptek, lol. Another time, another addiction...

Thanks again Claude, cheers. ;)

Gt40, when I had my XP, it was a treat to play with SecondLife, I had many friends have is getting a lot of friends in Sl. Unfortunately, the loss of my XP. But, Sl, is not only magic, people have an identity, and it's like a tranfer of life to another, so the people, remains themselves, but the difference is that everything is magical. Haptek I have always maintained, all work on disk, it is always present, but evolution by many to the application, it joined the theme that I mentioned lately. ;)

Yes Claude, SL is magic and you're right, even if we have a totally different appearance than the one we have in RL (fortunately), most of us stay the same in SL.

Despite the roleplay (or because of the roleplay), I think the sense of humor is even better in SL (SL conversations don't lie).

Ah yes, except when (seldom) we meet a stupid resident, but no worries, who would to be friend with him/her... :)

(and now the very technical minute by GT40)

Why "MY SL" looks sooo good to me...

1. Because my SL is "MY" SL (the true technical reason).

2. Counting... I have created 5 specific places for fun, 3 public (all available in the Search engine) and 2 very private. Most of them are closed skyboxes. In a closed skybox, nothing to know and see about the outside. Nothing about water, ground, sky, clouds, nothing about the landscape. People don't go there to enjoy a landscape... The decoration on the walls is mainly made of pics, slideshows, animated images and of course of quicktime movies. I don't think the result would look greater with a better card (but maybe I'm wrong).

3. The draw distance, ah the draw distance, so important for the framerate. Because all these places are very cozy, I reduced the draw distance to... 32 meters (possible in the advanced menu). There is nothing interesting beyond the walls, and everything inside looks and works fine.

4. Since the first day, I use the same viewer, the first official viewer (then called viewer 1 when viewer 2 appeared, lol). Phoenix is very similar, because  based on the old Snow Globe. I had to use Phoenix since LL introduced mesh graphics in SL (not sure it's a great idea, but nothing to do to stop that now).

5. Sorry if I was speaking of "MY" SL, not of SL. But everyday many SLers tell me that my SL look great to their so powerful computers (from 2012, not from 2002), too. Thank you people of SL. :)

I guess what you have never had you don’t notice when it isn't there.

    Hi resolution (1920 x 1080) minimum.

    No jaggy edges

    Modern lighting

    Pixel shadder 3

It all adds to making a more realistic SL doesn’t it GT?

Thank you Data for your nice postcard from Paris. I hope you don't mind (and if I hurt you, I sincerely apologize), but "MY SL" looks much more better than this sophisticated pic. Really.

The fun I had with my partners yesterday night (another amazing experiment) was incredible. Of course we were not on the top of the Eiffel Tower but in a more adequate place, my place.

My problem is, as always, I can't prove it. I guess Freddy doesn't wish to host porn pics on his site. Me either, that's a very private affair... ;)

Haaaaa!! This morning my Ti 4600 was inside my letterbox!!

Oooooh!! This afternoon my Ti 4200 is back inside my computer!!

This 4600 works fine (with sometimes big blue lines on the screen) until I try to launch something...

I lost... well, 30 euros. I hope I will survive. :-[

Hi GT, I know it's not like me but I have censored your image with the naughty F-word.  I like to keep things family friendly here and I know others do too.  Yes we are mostly grown ups posting but we have to be responsible with what we post.  This is not a lecture though  ;)

I hope you understand my friend  ::)

No worries Freddy. I understand, I will avoid in the future to send posts containing this word. You're right, no need to use vulgarity to try to look funny (too easy). :o

And thanks again my friend, to host on your site this ridiculous thread that is a total nonsense, in this so serious world of AI Dreamers. ;)

Oops sorry guys, I forgot to say bye (I know, not the first time I say bye). Usually I'm a very polite person in SL.

Ashamed you have seen I'm very slow. It took me 24 pages to understand that SL isn't "MY SL". Sorry I lost my and your time to try to explain why I feel so good in SL, with a such a ridiculous machine (kidding, of course I looove my Pentium 4). But at least it was fun to me. I must admit I'm very proud of ""MY SL"... O0

No problem, it's just a "bye for now". Sure I will come back soon, maybe in 2015 or 2018, with a new computer. I'm afraid I will be very disappointed. No doubt SL will look much more better, but no reason "MY SL" will be improved. It's already PERFECT. :)

POOF!

If I may, I would like to slot in a couple of vids explaining how to survive in SL.

Might come in handy to anyone new to SL and who reads this thread.
