Knocking a cup of coffee over my desktop and computer today - first one of the year  ;D

At least you’ve got that out of the way nice and early in the year, with a bit of luck that’ll be it for 2012  :D

I just put a SSD in this computer, I'm using the original drive for storage.  I like the quicker boot time, I've been installing things that need a restart so it was nice.  I just installed Hal and can now see some improvements in speed, Hal pops up on the screen instead of the waiting, the same with the brain editor where I really saw the slow load up, now it pops up.
Also I wanted to thank you guys with the help in finding the downloads I needed for Hal.

You know what's really discouraging?

Searching the net, finding and posting the most topical, interesting, thought provoking articles and videos one can find.
Over 50 some viewers within 2 or 3 days yet no one posts a response, contributes by way of discussion or remark!
I'm trying to stimulate the site and the supposed like minded people who visit here and for what?

It's almost like email has become. You know...you send a real cool email to a friend hoping to elicit a response from him
or her only to get nothing in return other than perhaps a totally different, unrelated email back from them in a few days.

I log on this evening as the only Member, yet there are 20 visitors! I don't know.... I give up! Moving on....

Don't worry Art, better to get no reply than an ordinary com(pli)ment.

The most important is that many people have read your posts. When the original post is well-documented, I guess nobody has something to answer. Your one about flags was incredible and very interesting. I had nothing to add. (I could say English isn't my native language but it's easy).

Or maybe just "Thanks for sharing". ;)

What grinds with me is:

I sign up to a site or forum and make a post asking for help but get completely ignored. (Not this site)

Then I solve my problem and also solve problems others are having, so you make a post explaining I found a fix for something and, yup, you got it,

I still get ignored.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother too.

Art, rest assured I read all you posts my friend and do appreciate them.

Oh dear !  Art it's just the state of the age - people have a shorter attention span now, it's nothing personal.  I thought people had been responding...like the Interactive character one and the flags, Claudes ideas etc.

I will go back and check to see if I have something interesting to say.  Really that's the point for me, unless I have something interesting to say I will shut up.  But I do read them :)

And Carl, thanks for birthday wishes, but my birthday is not until the summer ;)

I am sure all this venting is good for us though  ;D

Freddy,
my apologies, I will be the first to say happy birthday then.  I found an old post from Art in my messages and since I had found you people to be so helpful and knowledgeable I had wanted to reply to his message even though it was old.
I have been working with Duskriders village girl, I'd say it is one of the best Haptek characters I have seen, and I have found that I am unable to remove the problems with audio noise for these characters by changing the settings on the video card for the physx.

I don't spend anywhere near as much time here as I used to, due to increasing demands on my time at home, which is a shame, because I like coming here to see what the rest of you are up to. Hang in there, Art (if you haven't already left, that is). Your posts ARE appreciated, even if nobody seems to say so at the time. :)

GCC, nice chatting with you today, BTW...hope your project goes well!

All others, When I said moving on...I meant that I was finished with my tirade,
not that I was leaving the wonderful members and company of this oft times,
thought provoking site!

Sorry Freddy, I was merely using our great site as a sounding board, blowing
off a bit, so to speak...venting!

You are correct...it's almost a sign of the times (not the song by Petula Clark),
where we are in such a hustle with our daily lives that we often forget to
smile, thank or even hold a door for another person. I try to make it a point
to do a few nice things every day, even to a complete stranger. If nothing
more than to let them know that there are still some nice people in the world.
I hope they duplicate my actions by doing something nice for someone else.

Most of the news is either about some celebrity or some disaster that we rarely
hear of anything good happening in the world! Most times I simply do not
watch the evening news any longer. If I want to find out things, I use the Internet
at my leisure and I can quickly close any obnoxious commercials as I see fit.

Rest assured that I very much appreciate the opportunity I and others have
in simply being a part of this great community...even if we don't speak that often! ^-^ ;)

Thanks!!
And to all a good night!!!

For boosted Aidreams! Uhm! I have an idea! It's simple. We must remake a new topic. With the title. "How Are You Today?". In this topic, we must all meet a nice little message, and talk a bit about our day. This is very easy!
Art, on the mood in France, now, I have the feeling to be encountering some wasps. In France, people are getting worse. And I understand that the situation is similar everywhere. >:( ;)

But I am the dog satanas ..  ;D

Art you need to be careful about that "doing nice things to strangers" thing. The last time I did that, I ended up needing antibiotics! :o

Actually, it's not what you may think. :P I cut my hand on a piece of glass while helping a lady get an old, busted aquarium out of her car. The resulting infection wasn't pleasant, but she sure was. We dated after that for 2 years. :)
